Our Second Wedding Anniversary At The Elder In Bath
Just like that — two years have passed in a flash. I mean, it’s not so difficult to see how the time has passed so quickly, when the majority of our first two years of marriage has been spent indoors, locked up, and having to stay home.
I think it is easy to hear common advice like, ‘ don’t go to bed angry, or give your spouse the cold shoulder’ & to keep each other laughing and never take life too seriously.
But, I think the biggest thing that we have learned is, that everyone’s situation is so incredibly different, and there are so many different variables than can adjust a situation.
For us, we are about to start pursuing IVF, which is bringing a different and more reserved season of life into focus. Primarily one of watching our finances, and being modest with our spending.
However, for our anniversary we decided to head to The Elder in Bath to celebrate the occasion.
Seated in a series of elegant and atmospheric dining rooms, each portioned along the lines of the original Georgian houses they reside within, guests are welcomed as old friends. A sumptuous yet informal dining experience where our guests are taken on a journey of discovery by the knowledgeable and passionate team. Everyone who visits The Elder leaves having learned something –whether it’s a story about the history of Bath, our local estates, or how we prepare and cook the perfect venison.
The Elder has a seasonal menu — & unfortunately I did not write down just what we had, and the online menu has changed over at this point. But perhaps if you want to hear more of what we ordered, after you have taken a look at the gallery above, you will want to head over to the YouTube video where we bring you along the experience.
We are looking forward to the changes that will hopefully be on the horizon sooner, rather than later. But for now, this was a pleasant way to celebrate our second wedding anniversary.
Thank you for sharing a small part of it with us.
Best wishes,
Paul & Nicole
